Introduction and Legal Disclaimer
First and foremost allow us to say that we firmly believe that the majority of our members are mature and self-guiding enough that these rules will fall into the category of common sense. Unfortunately there sometimes arise incidents when it is helpful to be able to refer to a set of written guidelines for what is considered "acceptable behavior".
ShootersNation.com (herein referred to as Shooters Nation) and its staff are ultimately not responsible for what the members of the community upload or say within the confines of this website. By using the Shooters Nation web site you indicate an acceptance of these rules and agree to follow them. Furthermore, you agree to hold Shooters Nation and its staff members harmless and indemnify them from any legal claims resulting from your use of this website.
Because there are only a few rules and because they are so simple in nature, they are strictly enforced.
Revised January 13, 2018
Rule #1: Maintain good fellowship.
There will be times that you do not agree with someone else, and times when no one else agrees with you. No matter what the case may be, you are expected to handle differences and disagreements with maturity and tact. Handled responsibly, debates are welcomed and even encouraged, however, name calling, slurs, flame posts, and other insulting remarks meant to cause conflict are not allowed. You don't have to agree, but you do have to try to get along. If someone is being abusive, report it to the Shooters Nation Staff.
Rule #2: Do not promote illegal activities.
You may not use this website to promote illegal activities. We ask that you hold yourself to a higher standard as a representative of the gun-owning community and that you carefully consider that what you say here today could haunt you elsewhere tomorrow. The Internet provides an almost indelible record of everything said or done on websites such as this and there are many eyes upon us. The media and law enforcement frequently monitor websites for their own purposes.
Rule #3: Keep it on topic.
When contributing to a conversation, do your best to keep your comments topical and relevant to the discussion at hand. Also, our message forums are divided into topical sub-forums so that similar topics are collected together. Please help us by starting new conversations within the sub-forum that relates to your topic.
Rule #4: Personal Sale Advertisements
The sale or trade of all personally owned items must be conducted through our Marketplace forums. You may only post ads for sale or trade of items that you yourself own. Do not make posts "selling this item for a buddy" or otherwise engage in third-party transactions, as you will bear the full responsibility of how that transaction plays out, good or bad. By using the Marketplace, you understand that you assume the burden of following all local, State, Federal and International laws that pertain to the transaction. You also understand and agree that this website, its staff, and owners cannot be held responsible for any damages, direct or indirect, caused by the result of any transaction made between you and any other party.
Rule #5: Commercial Advertisements
Advertising opportunities exist for businesses who wish to promote their goods and services through our website by becoming an Authorized Dealer. Only Authorized Dealers may post commercial advertising or solicit business on this website. Please use the Contact Us link provided on each page of this website to learn more about how you can advertise with us.
Please understand that we have zero-tolerance for companies that attempt to engage in acts of soliciting undercover or have others do so for them. We consider soliciting undercover to be the acts of anyone representing a business who registers an account on this website to promote products or services while masquerading as an average consumer.
Rule #5: Respect our Authorized Dealers
Attacking our Authorized Dealers (advertisers) in the open forum is not allowed. If you have a complaint with an advertiser or sponsor of Shooters Nation, you should contact them privately. If they do not remedy your complaint, let the Shooters Nation Staff know and we will check into the matter. We have yet to see a forum sponsor fail to help a member with a complaint if the complaint is legitimate and reasonable. These folks help keep the lights on around here and we ask that you respect their investment by addressing complaints with them privately. Failure to observe this protocol could result in the termination of your Shooters Nation membership.
Promoting Special Events on Shooters Nation
Revised January 13, 2018
Do you have an event that you would like to advertise on ShooterShooters Nationation.com? Read the following before posting!
You would like to take advantage of our reach and exposure to the shooting community, and frankly, we might like to take advantage of your event to bring new members to Shooters Nation. If your event is deemed to be a good fit for our mission and good for our members, we might be able to work together.
We realize that organizers of special events may not require the type of long-term exposure that our Sponsors enjoy. To accommodate these needs, Non-Retail organizations (those not engaged in selling goods or services that would otherwise benefit from being a Vendor / Sponsor of Shooters Nation) may promote special events of interest to our members under the following provisions:
Are you interested? If so, start a conversation with us before you publicize your event. Non-Sponsors must contact us and receive approval before posting about your event, however.
